BFF!

Kira has been fortunate to be in the same class every year with the same kids since 2nd grade. These 2 are special though. Sean Murphy lives next door and he and Kira have been best friends since they were 4 years old. I wish I had the photo on the computer of the 2 of them dressed up. Kira was in her favorite costume and was the Good witch in her ruby slippers. Sean was the Witch of the west. I will have to look for that one and scan it. The other girl is Shambhavi Khanna. Kira became close friends with her in the 4s class at TPCC along with a couple of other kids that are also in her 5th grade class. It has been fun to watch them grow up together.

Kira received her Award of Completion. My oldest is now a middle schooler!

Presidential Award for Academic Excellence

Kira also received the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence. She received an official Presidential Seal pin and a letter from President Bush.

Kira graduates from 5th grade

On May 27th, Kira was honored at her school, Guion Creek Elementary for several awards. She received the bronze medal for Lifeskills, the Jump Kids Jump award (one of only a few kids selected to to jump rope at the Pepsi Coleseum for her school), Perfect Attendance, Science Fair, and morning Newscast member. Her 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Allen smiles on behind her.
